‘Someone’s getting keyed’: driver’s stealth move infuriates Aussies

A lack SUV’s swift move has left Australians divided in a dramatic scene all captured on camera.

NSW government says ‘no’ to paperless parking fines

A stealth park performed by an SUV in Melbourne has ignited a furious debate about reverse parking etiquette in Australia.

Footage shows a silver Lexus turning the corner and maneouvering into the familiar curve of a reverse park. Moments before they switch gears to back into the space, a black SUV swiftly accelerates and bumpily pulls into the spot.

It all happens so fast that the Lexus already begins to reverse before noticing that the space has filled up.

The SUV owner quickly jumps out of the car and locks it, throwing an unassuming glance to the Lexus owner, who is enraged and proceeds to jump out of the car.

SUV's sneaky move divides Aussies

“Someone’s getting keyed,” one user said in the comments of the footage shared to TikTok, while another said: “How do you do that and not expect their car to get f***ed with. Like you’re dead a** asking to come back to slashed tires and scratches all over.”

The angle of the Lexus’ park also went up for debate, with one user claiming that while they always reverse park, “in that situation, that hairpin and a car(s) behind me, nope, would have pulled straight in.”

Other users were divided in the comments.

One person called the stealth move the “ultimate disrespect,” while another said: “No indicator to indicate their intentions. As far as they’re concerned, the Lexus was just turning the corner. I don’t see any wrong doing here,”

Analogies to a battle royale death match were drawn with one commenter exclaiming: “It’s the Hunger Games out there!” referring to the dystopian franchise series, while others said: “That’s why I always cover the parking spot with my car if I’m going to reverse!”

A keen-eyed viewer pointed out, “Yes, they stole the spot but there’s another one right there.”

Several viewers were keen to see the fallout of the dramatic situation, but the clip cuts on a cliffhanger, just as the Lexus driver exits their vehicle. “Where is the rest of the video?” one viewer questioned, while another said they needed “part 2 ASAP.”
