Grand designs: Best mobile photography from our readers
WHEN we decided to run an architecture mobile photography competition we didn't expect the results to be so sophisticated. See this week's best pics here.
LAST week we called for readers to send their best photos of architecture in for us to publish.
From London, to Paris, to Rome we received pictures of buildings from all over the world.
Scroll down for next week's theme.
The best picks of the week for your enjoyment are below:
Terry van Heygen takes out first place this week for his amazing photo of a glass roof. The concentric circles interrupted by a building are just fantastic. The eye hops around the image picking up all kinds of detail.
Dennis Mangabat wins second place for his stained glass roof photo. The perspective used on this image gives it a surrealist feel. It not only captures a fantastic piece of architecture, it's also creatively structured and coloured.
Third place goes to a news.com.au reader that is known only as "Blah Witch" for her photo of a spider's home. This reader took real initiative in her interpretation of the word "architecture". We give an A+ for creativity.
Honourable mentions also go out to Daniel Ojurovic for the photo below. It was shot from a really interesting angle and his manipulation of light and shadow is accomplished.
Congrats to all this week's winners. Of course we couldn't fit all the awesome photos into one story so you can see the rest of this week's finalists in our gallery.
As for next week's theme, it's Street Art. Unfortunately today is my last day at news.com.au so our new technology reporter James Billington will be taking over this competition. Send your submissions to James.Billington@news.com.au or send us a tweet at @newscomauHQ.
