Elly Awesome reviews insane new Samsung Neo QLED 8K and Neo QLED 4K TVs

Can you spot the three TVs in this photo? A new design by Samsung has left tech lovers stunned at how they can’t tell tech from art.

Australia's TV technology evolution

Samsung has announced their latest TV line-up that will be available in select stores from today. And in the past few days, I’ve had the chance to have an early look and hands-on with their best TVs in the range.

Most notably, I sat down – literally – to experience their flagship Neo QLED 8K TV (QN900A) and Neo QLED 4K TV (QN90A).

The 8K flagship TV is $13,999 and the 4K TV is $6399! So, you can probably guess that the panels are quite breathtaking. These TVs have a brand new light source called Quantum Mini LEDs that is 1/40 the thickness of standard Samsung LEDs meaning these TVs bring even better blacks, enhanced colours and brightness.

These TVs are also incredibly thin with the Neo QLED 8K TV being 15mm “slim”, and when wall-mounted they sit almost flush with the wall. Adding Samsung’s ‘Infinity Design’ into the mix, which provides a nearly bezel-less screen, it looks incredible.

To compliment the TV’s profile, it comes with Samsung’s Slim One Connect Box, which attaches to your TV via a single cable. The One Connect Box houses all your TV’s typical ports, such as HDMI connections. This allows you to reduce your cable clutter, by attaching the One Connect Box to the TV or having it completely out of sight in a cabinet.

Object Tracking Sound Pro was also an exciting feature to experience. The Neo QLED 8K flagship has 14 in-built speakers – in the top, sides and centre including woofers along the bottom. With this technology, your sound can now ‘follow’ the action on screen making for an impressive cinematic experience. Pair this with Samsung’s latest soundbar technology and your lounge room will be totally transformed into the ultimate home cinema.

With these new releases Samsung also boasts a more green approach to its latest tech, with small innovations such as a solar cell-powered TV remote. I have to say this was one of my favourite innovations as the remote can be charged via solar or even your indoor lighting! Think of how many batteries you’ll avoid using.

It’s also worth a mention that I had a hands-on experience with Samsung’s latest iteration of The Frame TV. These TVs are made to look like a work of art, with a literal frame around them, and when not in use it’s shocking how well they disguise themselves as such. They can be customised with a range of easy to install magnetic frames that clip onto the TV’s edges. You can even vertically mount their smaller ‘The Frame’ TVs.

Even though I loved experiencing the grand Neo QLED TVs this may be one of my favourite TV designs ever. The range of art available for your display is also incredibly vast including museum-found works from famous artists like Van Gogh.

The Neo QLED 8K TVs start at 65” for $5599 and build up to 85” for a whopping $13,999. The Frame ranges in sizes from now a conveniently sized 32” ($919) going up to 75” for $4079.

Some of these TVs certainly have premium price points but now, maybe more than ever, TVs are an integral part of our daily life. With more people gaming than ever before – taking on home workouts and enjoying their favourite series and movies on digital channels and streaming services from their lounge.

I’ve barely scratched the surface with the latest line-up available. There was certainly something for everyone and if I had a cool $13,999 it would be such a luxury to live life with the flagship Neo QLED 8K TV.
