Give your MacBook a clear lift
THERE was a time when a stand for your computer came in one of two models.
THERE was a time when a stand for your computer came in one of two models.
There was the White Pages or the Yellow Pages and both were limited in form and function. The GhostStand, which does not have the same limitations, is a simple idea by Twelve South, makers of the distinctive BookBook cases for iOS devices.
It has two interlocking clear panels that form an X-shaped stand that angles the MacBook, tilting down from a height of 12cm. That puts the screen at a more comfortable height.
The two transparent panels that make up the GhostStand have silicon rails along the top that prevent your MacBook sliding down and plonking on your lap.
If you use the MacBook's keyboard, this stand is unlikely to suit you as you would be typing with your hands raised above the desk.
But if you connect your MacBook to a wireless keyboard, the combination is comfortable.
If you use your MacBook as a second screen, this puts it at a more convenient height.
But once you assemble the stand it's not designed to be disassembled.
