Cyberpunk 2077 launch day issues and bugs on PS4, Xbox One
Furious fans are reporting a game they’ve waited eight years to play is struggling to work on hardware they’ve had for less time.
The long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077 is finally out, but despite being announced before the last generation consoles even hit shelves, it reportedly runs like “garbage” on PS4 and Xbox One.
The developers have faced several challenges in the game which has been delayed a number of times since it was originally slated to come out in April this year.
Now that it’s finally out, gamers who have been waiting eight years to play it are not impressed.

My God, #Cyberpunk2077 is garbage on PS4. The gameâs way buggier than other games on launch, and absolutely deserves criticism for that. I bought Valhalla + Legion day one and found way less bugs in both games combined than there are in Cyberpunk footage.

Lol damn crazy how they constantly delayed cyberpunk and made employees work 95 hour weeks only to have it be a bug filled mess that looks like garbage

I am so disappointed by the base Xbox One version of Cyberpunk 2077. Iâve NEVER anticipated a game more than this. Iâve waited SO LONG for this game to come out, and now, because of the console I own, I have to wait even longer, to upgrade. Utterly heartbroken. #cyberpunk2077

The game runs markedly better on a PC, and the seven-year-old consoles might struggle with its ambitious scope.
A version of the game for next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series S/X consoles isn’t due out until next year.
Some had previously expressed disappointment that early reviewers of the game (including news.com.au) were given PC codes: The suggestion being the developers intentionally tried to conceal how poorly the game ran on older consoles.

Also notable: nobody has played the console versions of Cyberpunk yet bc only PC codes were provided to reviewers. And nobody is allowed (yet) to use their own captured footage in their reviews. This game could be complete ass on PS4/Xbox One and we wonât know until Thursday.

The more I see of Cyberpunk 2077 on ps4 and xbox one the more I think that they should have just cancelled that gen version of the game. Sure they would've lost sales but the game seems like a mess. Any wonder reviewers only got PC codes ð³

Some others defended the game and said people shouldn’t expect it to run perfectly on what is essentially outdated technology.
Why are people complaining that #Cyberpunk2077 looks bad on a 2013 Xbox One?
— Jeff (@JeffTutorials) December 10, 2020
Of course it looks bad. The console is nearly 8 years old for God sake.
