The developers of the hotly awaited Cyberpunk 2077 video game are scrambling to include better warnings and provide a fix for parts of the game that can trigger epileptic seizures.

The game is set in a dystopian future where neon lights abound, but several parts of the game feature intense strobing effects that could have devastating impacts for some.

One reviewer has already reported she suffered a “major seizure” during the game.

Game Informer’s associate editor Liana Ruppert made the brave choice to push on to protect other gamers who want to play a title people have been waiting eight years for, after suffering one major seizure and experiencing “several moments” where she was close to another one.

Worse still, she’s also reported people are now sending her videos trying to trigger her to have another seizure, a toxic undertaking from a subset of gamers that already sent death threats to the developers after the game was delayed for the final time.

The "braindance" introduction early in the game features some intense strobing visuals.

Cyberpunk 2077 developers CDProjektRed have announced they’re working on a fix.

Although a warning is included in the End User Licence Agreement (EULA).

The developers are working on a “more permanent solution” that will be implemented “as soon as possible”.

This could include something like a toggle in the options to turn off any such effects.

The game already has toggles to turn off things like copyrighted music so that people streaming gameplay don’t get hit with take down notices.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases on December 10.
