Microsoft has announced a livestream set to air at the end of January which will show off a host of games coming to Xbox and Windows PCs in the first half of 2023.

The presentation, called Developer_Direct, will include new information, gameplay footage, and more from a number of high profile games due to release in the next few months, including Minecraft Legends and Redfall, according to an official blog post.

Microsoft has said that the presentation will focus on at least four games: The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall. The presentation will also be followed by an additional event detailing a new chapter reveal for The Elder Scrolls Online.

The other games listed each have different information being shown off during the presentation. Microsoft says that Forza developer Turn 10 Studios have been “hard at work, bringing fans the next generation of Forza Motorsport”, said to be designed from the ground up to take advantage of the Xbox Series X and S.

Minecraft Legends, the action-strategy game from Mojang Studios will have gameplay footage shown off, focusing on the game’s player-versus-player multiplayer experience. Team-based survival shooter Redfall on the other hand will reportedly have “several minutes of gameplay” shown off, with Microsoft saying that fans will learn more about “combat, customisation, bosses, the open world, and more”.

Those excited for Bethesda’s upcoming epic Starfield will have to wait a little longer, however, as Microsoft has said it won’t be appearing in this presentation. A stand-alone showcase for the game is said to be in the works instead, so that Microsoft can “dedicate a proper amount of time for a deep dive” into the game.

A tweet from the official Xbox Game Pass Twitter account also suggests that more games for Xbox Game Pass will be announced at the show too, but details are light on what these games could be. January will already see three high profile games, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Monster Hunter Rise, be made available through the service.

The Developer_Direct presentation from Xbox is due to air on Microsoft’s Twitch and YouTube channels at 7:00am AEDT on January 26.
