Gatecrasher arrested at The Game Awards after taking to the stage and accepting award

A gatecrasher at The Game Awards took the mic and thanked “reformed orthodox rabbi Bill Clinton” in a bizarre moment

Monster Hunter Rise is coming to Xbox Game Pass

A young The Game Awards attendee has been arrested after storming the stage during the show’s big Game of the Year presentation.

The man, who has yet to be publicly identified, followed the development team representing From Software up to the stage. At first it seemed like they were a part of the team, but after the team had given its speeches, things got a little bit weird.

Thankfully, the man was kind enough to let Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki finish his speech, but after he approached the microphone and started to speak.

“I want to thank everybody,” the gatecrasher said, “I think I want to nominate this award to my reformed orthodox rabbi Bill Clinton, thank you everybody”.

After the outburst, we saw security approach the man calmly, and the camera cut away to host Geoff Keighley. Keighley closed out the awards show by saying goodbye and thanking viewers for watching, largely avoiding acknowledging what had just happened.

After the show had ended, Keighley took to Twitter to announce that the interloper had been arrested. It’s not currently known what happened after the arrest.

Elden Ring took home just four awards at The Game Awards, about half of the awards it was nominated for overall. The big one, of course, was Game of the Year, which denotes the best game released in 2022.

It also picked up awards for Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Roleplaying game. The biggest winner of the night was God of War: Ragnarok, which took home 6 of the 10 awards it was nominated for.

It comes shortly after Elden Ring got a huge update adding colosseums. The colosseums allow players to face each other in combat, with six different types of challenges available for players to pick from. The update was free for all players.

In other The Game Awards news, Death Stranding was announced to be getting a sequel, tentatively titled a very original Death Stranding 2. The Hideo Kojima game debuted with a spectacularly strange trailer that offered more questions than it did answers.
