FIFA 23 rumoured to have collaboration with Marvel Comics

FIFA 23 may be gearing up for a Marvel Comics collaboration, an image discovered by fans suggests.

FIFA fans have discovered an uploaded image that features the FIFA 23 and the Marvel logos grouped together. While not confirmed by EA Sports itself, the image is directly linked to their website, fuelling rumours that a Marvel collaboration is coming.

FIFA 23 is potentially getting a big collaboration event around the game’s launch this September. Super-sleuth fans found an image that hasn’t been publicly announced or advertised by EA Sports, the developer of FIFA 23.

The image clearly shows the FIFA 23 logo alongside the Marvel logo, pitched above the FIFA Heroes tag. While EA Sports hasn’t publicly confirmed this partnership, this discovery does have one link — the image, when clicked on in Google Image Search, redirects to the official FIFA 23 FUT Heroes landing page.

The most likely explanation is that the image wasn’t meant to go live yet, and whoever uploaded the image forgot to toggle a setting to keep it private. Regardless, until EA Sports announces something officially, a single image is all we have to go on.

Rumours abound with many fans wondering if Marvel superhero player cards would make an appearance, such as Captain America or Iron Man special cards. The more likely scenario is custom stadiums or kits — it would be awfully silly to see Hulk trying to kick a penalty, for example.

It could also be nothing at all — in FIFA 22, EA Sports had several football stars drawn as Marvel superheroes for the FUT Heroes package, as a way to advertise their star players. However, that page lacks any Marvel branding, so the hope is that something a little more concrete will come out of this partnership.

FIFA 23 is already making waves in the football game fanbase. Earlier this week, EA Sports confirmed that it would exclude Russian football teams from FIFA 23 as a continuation of the decision made when the Russian invasion of Ukraine began. FIFA 23 is also implementing cross-play for many game modes — but not the one that would arguably need it the most, which has caused an uproar in the Pro Clubs community.
