Nick Kyrgios’ personal life is going swimmingly and the Aussie tennis star says he wants to have a baby with his girlfriend very soon.

Nick Kyrgios has hinted he plans to have a baby with girlfriend Costeen Hatzi as soon as next year.

The Australian tennis star has been dating Hatzi for eight months after the pair confirmed their romance in December.

During an Instagram Q&A on Friday, Kyrgios said they will be trying for their first child next year.

Responding to a question, “I love you when are we having babies”, Kyrgios said: “Next year”, along with ring and eyes emojis.

Earlier this year, the 27-year-old revealed he had got a tattoo of Hatzi’s first name, written in flowing black cursive, on his leg.

During his recent run to the Wimbledon final, Kyrgios gushed over Hatzi, calling her “the best girlfriend in the world”.

He said it’s easier for him to switch off from tennis and not get sucked into spending hours on his mobile phone after matches because he’s “obsessed” with his new girlfriend.

Kyrgios said 22-year-old Hatzi – who has become a fixture at his matches – was the perfect touring partner because she helped him switch off after big matches.

“In the past when I’ve got this far in a grand slam – or I’ve played big matches – I haven’t been able to separate … I used to be on my phone a lot after matches like this,” he said.

“When you get a result like this it’s so easy to be attached to technology – seeing everyone’s opinions on the match or highlights, everything like that.

“But I feel like I’m really able to switch off from that. And that’s a big part of my growth. Obviously being obsessed with my girlfriend helps, but I’m just able to let that go and enjoy my dinner and wake up the next day and separate tennis and life.”

Kyrgios enjoyed some well earned R&R after his Wimbledon heroics, posting snaps from the Bahamas with Hatzi.

He has hinted several times about his plans to marry Hatzi one day.

The couple set tongues wagging earlier this year following sightings of Hatzi sporting a diamond ring on her engagement finger.

Kyrgios also used a diamond ring emoji when thanking Hatzi in an Instagram post.

Kyrgios then told his followers the wedding will be happening “very soon”. The post included a “heart” emoji and a “diamond ring” emoji.

He clearly likes the way things are right now with the Sydney-based influencer.

“Relationships are easy when both people are invested,” he told Stellar.

“It’s hard to move a couch on your own. I have had a couple past relationships that are brutal when you’re away from them for so long. It does affect you when you’re on the court.

“The luxury I have now in my career is that I’m able to provide for the person and if they want to travel with me they can.

“I’m in a very blessed situation that not many people are able to do. Hopefully everything works out but I don’t plan anything anymore.”

On the court, Kyrgios’s US Open preparation suffered a setback when he was forced to pull out of the Atlanta Open singles draw this week because of a knee injury.

Kyrgios would have been ranked inside the top 20 of the ATP rankings if Wimbledon ranking points had counted.

His withdrawal from Atlanta now means he is likely to drop out of the top 60 and be unseeded for the US Open, which begins in late August.

But Kyrgios was fit enough to continue playing doubles with fellow Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis in Atlanta.

The Australian Open doubles champions moved into the semi-finals with a 6-4 7-6 win over Gonzalo Escobar and Hunter Reese on Friday (AEST).
