‘I’m ready bro’: Nick Kyrgios hints at tennis return with Novak Djokovic in Brisbane
Nick Kyrgios has taken to social media to hint at an incoming doubles partnership with champion Novak Djokovic, in another step towards his long awaited return to the tennis circuit.
Nick Kyrgios has hinted at a dream doubles team-up with Novak Djokovic for the 2025 Brisbane International.
Kyrgios, set to make his long awaited return to the tennis circuit at the Brisbane tournament, dropped the potential pairing with Djokovic clue on social media.
The idea was first floated at the Australian Open.
Djokovic said in an interview with Kyrgios “Yeah Nick, come back (from injury), let’s play doubles”.
Kyrgios replied “I’m ready bro”.
The Australian is no stranger to high profile doubles – winning the 2022 Australian Open with partner Thanasi Kokkinakis.
But Djokovic, the reigning Olympics champion, has only played doubles once this year – in the Davis Cup.
He played five doubles matches the year before.
The tournament will be Kyrgios’ first competitive tournament in almost two years due to a lengthy injury battle.
He won the Brisbane International back in 2018.
Tournament organisers are yet to confirm if the duo are listed as entrants in the doubles competition.
But Kyrgios posted on Instagram a photo of himself with Djokovic in the background with the caption “Doubles at Brisbane. See y’all there.”
