Victoria Derby Day 2021: Hitotsu claims victory in marquee event

Hitotsu has won the marquee event at the Victoria Derby Day following a big day of racing at Flemington on Saturday.

Hitotsu has won the 2021 Victorian Derby, storming home from the tail of the field to claim victory.

Gunstock was firmed as the $5 favourite for the marquee event on a major day of racing at Flemington, while Forgot You ($5.50) was also well backed by punters to cross the line first in race six.

But Hitotsu ultimately proved the champion, with Alegron and Teewaters finishing in second and third place respectively.

The Melbourne Cup barrier draw will take place at Flemington at around 6pm after the day’s racing is done.
