Top bets from Jett Hatton for Sale’s Sunday meeting
Jett Hatton gives his best, next best and value bet for Sale on Sunday along with a jockey to follow.
Apprentice Matthew Chadwick has rode two winners from his six rides and can build on that at Sale on Sunday as he rides three good chances.
BEST BET
INNER SPIRIT (Race 5 No 1)
Fresh off a Group 1 win aboard Marabi, jockey Ben Allen can salute at Sale on Sunday in the same silks with this four-year-old. He was a strong winner last time out at Colac with subsequent formlines stacking up. Sticks at 1100m and drawn well in barrier four.
NEXT BEST
CICERO FIELD (Race 8 No 7)
Doesn’t strike the most genuine field and she was a good winner at her last start before a spell. The form reads three fresh starts for three duck eggs, but all her efforts first-up have been good in tougher races than what she contests on Sunday. Drawn to get a soft run and well treated at the weights. The $7 is overs.
VALUE BET
VICTORY COLOURS (Race 6 No 7)
He’s rising in grade but I’m surprised at the double figure odds on offer after his strong win last time out. Beat them by just under two lengths but had plenty left up his sleeve and two horses from the race have since come out and won.
JOCKEY - Matthew Chadwick
The 4kg claiming apprentice has had just the six rides and returned a winner in two of them. Connections are keen to utilise his claim on Sunday as he’s got three rides that are all in the market.
ROLLING MOSS (Race 5 No 2 - $5), SARODEC (Race 7 No 1 - $4.80), ONSLAUGHT (Race 8 No 5 - $3.40)
