TAMWORTH TIPS

BEST BET
Race 6 No.6 RELEASE POINT
Won on debut; no luck at all in the next two either side of the spell.

NEXT BEST
Race 5 No.15 INTERVENTIONIST
Grey son of Dundeel who gets to the mile here second-up, Tick.

VALUE
Race 1 No.12 OFF THE SCALE
First starter from an astute stable who wasn’t shown up in her trials.

QUADDIE
Race 4: 1,2,4
Race 5: 6,15
Race 6: 6
Race 7: 1,2,5

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW
Luke Rolls could take out the TAB Jockeys Challenge with any luck.

TAMWORTH INSIDE MAIL

RACE 4: BENCHMARK 82 (1200m)
RHYTHM IS A DANCER (2) has won 5 from 18 and placed 4 times. On top of that he has won twice at Tamworth from four visits and perhaps most indicative of his talents is that he won a Scone Country Cup and was fourth in the Championship Heat here at Tamworth in March to RUSSLEY CROWN (1) (who, as it happens, also runs here Monday). JACENZA (4) is unbeaten in her two runs at Tamworth but is drawn the widest here.
BET: Rhythm Is A Dancer to win

RACE 5: BENCHMARK 66 (1600m)
INTERVENTIONIST (15) was a $150,000 yearling in 2020 who was purchased, online, in August 2023 for $11,000. Of those eight runs for the new owners, the horse has won 3 times. He rattled home over 1200m first-up here and gets to the mile now. LEICA MODEL (6) was on a hat-trick prior to her fairly moderate run at Grafton. Maybe she wants the 1600m now? SYRIAN STAR (3) has run really well in Highways.
BET: Interventionist each-way, box trifecta 3,6,10,15, Daily Double 1st Leg (15), 2nd Leg (2)

RACE 6: CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1400m)
RELEASE POINT (6) was most impressive winning at Narromine on debut on April 28. Fair to say that the horse didn’t have much luck in the two runs after that, particularly first-up at Scone on August 30. BLAZED PRINCE (5) was always going to win a race, and he’ll win more now that he has learned how to get the job done. The draw makes it harder this time. Consistent duo POWER BEAU (4) and FULL COMMITMENT (11) are contenders.
BET: Release Point to win (best bet)

RACE 7: CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1000m)
JET EMPRESS (2) was back in the winner’s stall and back to her best when she collected her third win from seven starts in a Benchmark 58 here over the 1000m on September 16 which bestowed on her a record of one for one at the track and trip. No reason why she can’t repeat the dose. Interesting that the third horse home behind ‘the Jet’ was NOT WRITTEN OFF (5) who bolted in at Narromine last Monday. WHO GOES THERE (1) ran 56.59s at his only track and distance appearance.
BET: Jet Empress to win, box trifecta 1,2,5,6

WAGGA TIPS

BEST BET
Race 2 No.5 CANDI LASS
Keith Dryden-trained mare who is perfectly tuned/suited for the 1400m now.

NEXT BEST
Race 3 No.2 TAKE THE RAP
Very impressive in her two wins from only three starts.

VALUE
Race 6 No.17 MY BLUE JEANS
Start 122 on Monday for the 10-time winner. Sting out suits.

WAGGA INSIDE MAIL

RACE 4: MAIDEN PLATE (1200m)
URAFIKI (11) had her first five starts for Joe Pride and while unplaced in all of them maybe two of them could pass as ‘not bad’. But without being unduly critical of this very well-bred mare, she probably isn’t city standard hence why she has shifted to Danielle Seib at Goulburn. Former (brief) Maher/Eustace housed HOT TODDY (2) is ‘683’ for Wagga trainer Darrell Burnet and they were all ‘good’ or ‘very good’ in their own way. Can launch late.
BET: Urafika each-way, box trifecta 2,3,11,15.

RACE 5: CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1400m)
KERMANDIE RIVER (4) (in the Gerry Harvey silks) won start two at Wagga on September 21 by four-and-a-bit lengths, leading all the way from barrier 1. Now he goes to the Class 1 over 1400m which is a very suitable progression for the horse BUT he’s drawn 14. Sticking with him still. Hayes galloper HENRY’S BLADE (2) has accepted for Tatura on Tuesday but is a danger if present here. FUTURE FUND (5) (well drawn) and SUSPECT (1) (in form) are players.
BET: Kermandie River to win, Daily Double 1st Leg (4), 2nd Leg (9).

RACE 6: BENCHMARK 58 (1800m)
MY BLUE JEANS (17) lines-up for his 122nd start on Monday, aiming for his 11th win and/or 24th placing be it second or third. The $10,000 Adelaide Yearling is racing a lot better than it looks, the problem has been Good 4’s. Note the ‘has’ because he’ll definitely get the surface to suit this time. NATS ENOUGH (2) is a reliable horse. He’s won 6 races in all and 4 of them have been here at Wagga. Loves the slop when he can get it. SORRY SUNSHINE (10), LIQUOR TALK (12) have claims in an open race.
BET: My Blue Jeans each-way, box First 4 Nos. 2,3,10,12,17.

RACE 7: CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1200m)
LETME ENTERTAINYOU (9) shares the same third dam (Steam Heat) as Yes Yes Yes and In Her Time. This is one of the deadset ‘fastest’ families in the Stud Book. Anyway, as for Letme Entertainyou, he has won 3 from 10 and been runner-up twice. He resumes here at home off a smashing trial and gets box one and Nick Heywood. ACHESON (3) is a lightly-raced and smart looking sprinter himself. He’s drawn well too and has the race-fitness advantage. YOUR NOT THE BOSS (11) has trialled up well for the Mitchell Beer fans.
BET: Letme Entertainyou to win, exacta 9 to beat 3.
