A racing driver has been accused of raping one of Michael Schumacher’s nurses inside the Formula 1 legend’s Swiss residence.

According to prosecutors in Switzerland, the unnamed driver — described as a professional competitor in single-seater racing — allegedly attacked the nurse in an upstairs bedroom of the Schumacher family home in Gland, in November 2019.

The allegations, which were first reported by 24heures, have only now emerged.

Authorities claim the man, who was in his late thirties at the time, had been staying at the Schumacher estate as a guest of the family. He was reportedly close friends with Schumacher’s son, Mick, who is now 26.

The Schumacher family is not implicated in any way in the accusations.

Prosecutors say the nurse, who is her thirties, was part of the live-in medical team caring for Schumacher after the catastrophic skiing accident in 2013 that left the seven-time world champion with severe head injuries.

It is alleged the driver raped her following a night of heavy drinking after the pair encountered one another in the home’s billiard room. The man maintains they had kissed previously during a night out in Geneva, but the nurse denies there was ever a personal relationship.
