Michael Clarke sells Bondi property amid shock split with wife
As Australia reels from the news Michael Clarke and his wife Kyly are divorcing, the cricket star has already made a major move.
Former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke has reportedly sold the Bondi property he has been living in for the past few months as it was revealed he and wife Kyly Boldy are divorcing.
The couple confirmed their split in a statement to The Australian, who reported Clarke had moved out of the pair’s Vaucluse home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs five months ago and into his beachside pad at one of Australia’s most iconic locations.
According to Realestate.com.au the luxury property — which Clarke purchased in 2011 for $6 million from his mate and celebrity accountant Anthony Bell — was sold in the “low seven millions” despite hopes it would fetch at least $8 million.
It had been on the market since spring last year.
Clarke lived at the Bondi apartment on Campbell Parade briefly with ex-fiancee Lara Worthington (nee Bingle) before their engagement was broken off in 2010.
The apartment has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and boasts views of the beach.
The sale comes after Clarke offloaded Roundhill, the family’s little used Southern Highlands retreat in Berrima, for $4.75 million in 2017.

Boldy is expected to continue living in the family home at Vaucluse estimated to be worth $12 million as she and Clarke commit to co-parenting their four-year-old daughter Kelsey Lee.
“After living apart for some time, we have made the difficult decision to separate as a couple, amicably,” their statement read.
“With the greatest of respect for each other, we’ve come to the mutual conclusion that this is the best course for us to take while committed to the co-parenting of our daughter.”
Clarke and Boldy have agreed to the financial terms of their $40 million divorce, not needing to go through the courts to reach a settlement.
In addition to the Vaucluse and Bondi homes, other assets include another Bondi property Clarke co-owns with his sister Leanne as well as investments and savings worth $18 million, The Australian reports.
Clarke and Boldy married in 2012 and their shock announcement comes just 12 months since Kyly strongly rejected suggestions the couple’s relationship was in strife after Michael made headlines in gossip rags when he was photographed sitting on the back of a super-yacht in Sydney Harbour with his assistant Sasha Armstrong.
“We’re not, never were and never will be splitting,” Kyly told Daily Mail Australia in January 2019.
