Four words that destroy Michael Clarke’s reputation amid public spat with Jade Yarbrough, Karl Stefanovic
In the midst of Michael Clarke’s public fallout with Jade Yarbrough, the cricket great uttered four unforgivable words.
Michael Clarke’s reputation is in tatters.
The former Australian cricket captain was thrust into the spotlight on Wednesday night when footage of a public spat with his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough was filmed by a bystander and obtained by The Daily Telegraph.
The wild fracas sees Clarke slapped across the face and accused of cheating in extraordinary footage which was taken in Noosa on January 10.
As Yarbrough shouts at Clarke about his alleged infidelities with his ex Pip Edwards on December 17, the former skipper profusely denies the accusations.
But in the midst of the chaos, the cricketer uttered four simply unforgivable words.
“On my daughter’s life,” he says.

Sunrise entertainment reporter Peter Ford said they’ll be the final nail in the coffin of Clarke’s reputation.
“To his credit, he owns it and accepts full responsibility but he used four words that I think is going to haunt him and I think it goes to his character, or what people will perceive of his character,” Ford said on Sunrise.
“He twice says “on my daughter’s life, it’s not true” and now of course he is indicating it was true. You don’t pull out that card and use that card (of apologising) unless it really is true.”
Clarke told The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday night: “I accept full responsibility for this altercation and am shattered by my actions”.
The fight began when Clarke, Jade, Karl Stefanovic, Jasmine Yarbrough and their celebrity accountant mate Anthony Bell were at dinner at a beachside restaurant.
It’s understood Clarke’s celebrity fashion designer ex-Edwards and Jade had been in contact, sparking the confrontation between Clarke and Jade.
Edwards, who dated the former cricketer from mid-2020 to late-2021, released a statement condemning the 41-year-old’s actions.
“This is not my circus,” Pip said in a statement. “Yet again, Michael in his true nature has not taken responsibility for his actions and I was blatantly lied to.”
It’s not the first time the former cricket sensation’s love life has played out in the media. Clarke and his former partner Lara Bingle were once the ‘Posh and Becks’ of Australia after their love affair blossomed in 2007.
The two split in 2010, not long after a photo taken by AFL star Brendan Fevola showing the model in the shower was leaked.
Bingle would later say that splitting from Clarke was “the best thing” she ever did.
Clarke found love again, marrying Kyly Boldy in the Blue Mountains in 2012.
Kyly vowed that the pair would never break up, but sadly they ended up separating towards the end of 2019.
“After living apart for some time, we have made the difficult decision to separate as a couple, amicably,” Clarke and Kyly said in a joint statement when they split.
That news was confirmed at the start of 2020, not long before Clarke was seen getting close to Edwards.
Clarke and Jade went Instagram official in August last year.
