Aussie star Ebanie Bridges teases boxing boss for not looking her in the eye

Aussie boxer Ebanie Bridges was at her cheeky best as she once again trolled one of the sport’s biggest names before Paul Gallen’s big fight.

Aussie boxing star Ebanie Bridges has again poked fun at British promoter Eddie Hearn as she watched Paul Gallen destroy Darcy Lussick in Sydney on Wednesday night.

Bridges was in the crowd to watch the former NSW Origin captain notch up another win in his professional boxing career as he obliterated his rugby league rival, the referee stopping the fight 30 seconds into the third round.

During an Instagram Q&A earlier in the night with YKTR Sports, Bridges predicted Gallen would win by knockout and she was also asked what Hearn — one of the biggest boxing promoters in the world — was like.

“Eddie Hearn’s great. I mean, I don’t know — he’s hardly ever looking at me,” Bridges said, as she tilted her head up towards the sky.

Asked where Hearn would be looking, Bridges added: “I don’t know, he checks out the floor and the ceiling a lot.”

Bridges has previously teased Hearn about not looking at her during weigh-ins. She took to social media to make fun of the Brit ahead of a fight in August against Bec Connolly, and she repeated the dose in September before facing off against Mailys Gangloff.

Bridges is on the road to a world title fight next fight after she improved her professional record to 7-1 with a win over Gangloff three months ago — her second straight victory since losing to rival Shannon Courtenay in their WBA bantamweight world title bout.

The 35-year-old school teacher turned professional in February 2019 and has gone on to make a promising start to her career.

Her only defeat came in a bantamweight world title fight against Courtenay in April, losing by unanimous decision to the British star.
