Aussie Ebanie Bridges stuns in huge boxing victory
Australian boxing star Ebanie Bridges has solved the mystery of her perplexing victory on Sunday with a gruesome post-fight photo.
Ebanie Bridges is back on the road to a world title fight after a victory over Mailys Gangloff in the UK on Sunday morning.
The Sydney schoolteacher improved her professional record to 7-1 in her second straight victory since losing to rival Shannon Courtenay in their WBA bantamweight world title bout.
Fans had been left perplexed by Bridges’ performance after she appeared to start pulling punches in the later rounds in a fight where she needed a statement victory to demand attention for a future title fight.
The 34-year-old Aussie was awarded the victory via a judges card of 77-76 in close contest after surrendering the last few rounds to her opponent.
The mystery surrounding her finish to the fight was solved in the aftermath when Bridges posted a photo on Twitter showing her gruesome right hand.
Thanks to everyone that tuned in & all the fans that came to Leeds! Love you all I hope you enjoyed the fight!

Her photo showed a badly swollen hand and she says she will now have scans to see the extent of her injury.
The Blonde Bomber just did enough to secure the victory, making plenty of noise on the undercard of the Josh Warrington vs Mauricio Lara fight card.
Her favour on the judges’ card was helped by the overwhelming response she received from the Leeds crowd in the UK.
She had earlier this week won over the locals by matching Leeds colours with her trademark lingerie during the weigh-ins.
She carried a Leeds scarf as she walked out and it clearly went down well with fans in West Yorkshire.
Bridges turned professional in February 2019 and has gone on to make a promising start to her career, winning six of her seven fights.
Her only defeat came in a bantamweight world title fight against Shannon Courtenay, losing by unanimous decision to the British star.
Bridges is known for wearing lingerie at weigh-ins, doing so for her recent fights against Courtenay and Connolly.
