Raygun has been seen hanging out with an unexpected celebrity friend
After Raygun’s interview on The Project, a private photo of the Olympian has emerged that could “break the internet”.
If any doubt remained that Rachael “Raygun” Gunn’s life had changed after her controversial breakdancing performance in Paris, a photo of the Olympian with a surprising celebrity dining companion can put it to rest.
In the photo captioned “Break the internet”, Raygun and her husband are pictured sitting alongside British pop star Boy George, enjoying a meal in Amsterdam.
Boy George was wearing one of his signature little hats, and Raygun was sporting an oversized purple shirt.
The dinner looks casual and delicious and also seems incredibly random.
What does a mocked Olympian have in common with a UK singer? Well, more than you’d think.
It has been a big week for Raygun, 37, who broke her silence about all the backlash to her breakdancing performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics during a segment on The Project.
If you somehow missed the controversy, Raygun’s Olympic performance went viral because it was the opposite of winning a gold medal.
The 37-year-old broke out some fairly classic moves. She did the sprinkler, mimicked a snake, and even a kangaroo.
Her performance went so viral that celebrities like Adele and Jimmy Fallon poked fun at her breakdancing, and she was brutally panned on social media.
Some people claimed she couldn’t have even been allowed to compete after failing to win any of her three battles.
Raygun explained on The Project that she stayed off social media during the height of the backlash, but she wasn’t surprised that some people didn’t understand her performance.
“As soon as I qualified, I was like, ‘oh my gosh, what have I done?’ Because I knew that I was going to get beaten, and I knew that people were not going to understand my style and what I was going to do,” she said.
Interestingly, in her interview on The Project, she mentioned Boy George.
The 37-year-old that it hadn’t been all bad feedback, and some pretty impressive people had reached out.
“The upside is you get random people contacting you that you never thought would ever notice you,’ she said.
“You know, and it’s not just, like, breakers that you’ve respected for a decade. It’s someone like Sir Richard Branson calling you to say that he enjoyed your performance and he thought that it was ‘plucky’ and ‘courageous’ and ‘fun,” she explained.

So, where does Boy George fit into this? Well, Sir Branson may have set them up on a friendship date.
“And he would love to do something with me and have me on some cruises with Boy George. Like, what is life? I don’t know,” she said.
While Raygun and Boy George have yet to set sail for the high seas, they are at least dining together.
