Our experts check out the teams for NRL Round 3 and offer their tips

It’s been a tough start to the NRL season for many tipsters, which is why it pays to check out the advice of our experts.

IT’S been a tricky start to the NRL tipping season, which is why it pays to check out the advice of our experts.

Seasoned sport columnist Mike Colman and league writer Rikki-Lee Arnold are topping the class, with ten correct tips each going into a big Round 3.

Follow Robert Craddock, Peter Badel, Travis Meyn, Arnold, Colman, Paul Malone and Luke Turgeon throughout the season for advice and tips.

Have they got it right for round three or are some of them way off the mark?

ROUND 3 FIXTURES: Storm v Broncos, Bulldogs v Warriors, Titans v Eels, Knights v Rabbitohs, Panthers v Roosters, Cowboys v Sea Eagles, Raiders v Tigers, Sharks v Dragons.

   Mike Colman's top tips:

   Score so far: 10

No brainer: With all the Titans injuries Semi Radradra could beat them on his own.

Upset: The Raiders are winless but the Tigers are toothless.

Coin toss: Second week running the Broncos will make the wrong call.

   Rikki-Lee Arnold's top tips:

   Score so far: 10

No brainer: After last week's performances, you'd have to think Cronulla will walk away with a win over the Dragons.

Upset: I haven't tipped an upset this week but there could be a few on the cards. The under-fire Sea Eagles can upset the Cowboys without Matt Scott and Jason Taumalolo.

Coin toss: Panthers and Roosters. Penrith may have the home ground advantage but I've gone the Roosters given how good they've looked in the opening two weeks.

   Luke Turgeon's top tips:

   Score so far: 9

No brainer: The Cowboys will just be too strong at home for Manly.

Upset: Tians can bounce back against the Eels, who will be without Corey Norman.

Coin toss: Panthers-Roosters. Both teams in form, whoever shows up wins.

   Peter Badel's top tips:

   Score so far: 9

No brainer: The Cowboys to win well against a woeful Manly outfit whose halfback Daly Cherry-Evans is struggling for form.

Upset: The Bulldogs to snap their winless streak by beating the Warriors on Kiwi soil.

Coin toss: The Storm-Broncos clash shapes as a blockbuster. If Billy Slater plays well in his comeback, it will get the Storm home.

   Paul Malone's top tips:

   Score so far: 9

No brainer: South Sydney ($1.55) have too much strikepower for the Knights to win a second game in a row at home.

Upset: Not sure why Canterbury were $2.15 to beat the Warriors in Dunedin even before the withdrawal of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck. They went well last year in losing by four to the Roosters

Coin toss: The Panthers ($1.90) have won their past two matches against the Roosters ($1.90), so add that to their home ground advantage and a Penrith tip has merit.

   Robert Craddock's top tips:

   Score so far: 8

No brainer: The Sharks have a genuinely classy feel about them and should beat the Dragons.

Upset: Any game involving the Warriors. This week its the Bulldogs. Who would know?

Coin toss: The Cowboys are very close to losing a match and the Sea Eagles might just be the one who slips under their guard.

   Travis Meyn's top tips:

   Score so far: 7

No brainer: The Raiders are too good a team to not win a game in the opening three rounds of the competition and should beat Wests.

Upset: The Titans love being underdogs. They have been decimated by injury, but their team doesn't look too bad if it runs out 1-17 and Corey Norman is a huge loss for the Eels.

Coin toss: Penrith and Sydney is hard to pick. The Panthers were super exciting last weekend and Sydney have had some lapses in games so far.
