Australia’s hopes of returning to medal glory at the Paris Olympics looks bright. This is everything you need to know.
The path to Paris Olympics gold for our Hockeyroos and Kookaburras is set.
The Aussies are among 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams divided into two pools each.
Each team will play five games and the top four in each pool will reach the quarter-finals.

In June the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos named their squads for the Games, with Rosie Malone controversially overlooked.
She later fronted up to media to discuss the matter.
Hockey Australia was in June also rocked by a report that shone a light on the grievances of current and former players left disgruntled by their treatment of the governing body.
Just weeks before the Games Hockeyroos co-captain Jane Claxton said the current group of players refused to be defined by the failings of previous administrations.

WHAT IS THE PERFORMANCE HISTORY AT THE GAMES?
HOCKEYROOS
Women’s hockey was first played at Moscow 1980, but Australia did not compete until Los Angeles 1984.
The Hockeyroos won gold at Seoul 1988, Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000.
Since 2000 the Hockeyroos finished fifth at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics, before claiming sixth at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
KOOKABURRAS
The first Australian men’s team competed at Melbourne 1956 and since then they have finished no lower than sixth.
They won bronze at Tokyo 1964, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Beijing 2008 and London 2012, silver medals at Mexico City 1968, Montreal 1976 and Barcelona 1992 and gold at Athens in 2004.
After six consecutive podium finishes, the team could only manage sixth at Rio 2016, before claiming silver at Tokyo 2020.
