An American athlete has lifted the lid on what it’s truly like using dating app Tinder inside the Paris Olympics village.

American athlete Emily Delleman has given every Olympic fan exactly the kind of insight they were hoping to get.

Delleman, a rower for Team USA, opened up and spilt the beans on what Tinder inside Paris’ Olympic Village is truly like.

In a two minute plus post to her TikTok account, Delleman detailed her entire journey from re-downloading the app to looking for any potential matches.

“So I was laying in my cardboard bed the other day recovering and I was scrolling through TikTok and I was seeing the girlies saying ‘hey change your location to the Olympic Village’ and I was like ‘oh my gosh genius’.

“So I was going to take full advantage of this, like when in Rome. I haven’t had this app downloaded in years, so I go to the store and they’re hyping it up.

“Saying things like ‘match with pro athletes using our new feature’ and I was like okay this must be good.

“I was getting excited, the expectations were rising.”

It’s then however that Delleman exposes the true nature of what it’s like on Tinder when you attempt to use it inside the Village.

“So I start scrolling and scrolling and I’m not seeing any Olympians,” she says.

“I was like okay my settings must be weird. No. I’m like one mile radius and so far I think I’ve seen a total of two other Olympians.

“I mean don’t get me wrong, you Parisian men are beautiful, chefs kiss like I don’t know what they put in the water.

“But you know I went in with the expectations of finding some of my future plot lines but alas I guess we’re searching for other forms of entertainment and that’s why you’re finding me on TikTok.”

The barren wasteland of Olympic hook ups on the app in Paris is a far cry from previous Olympics which saw athletes swiping the night away.

Even during the Tokyo Games which had strict coronavirus protocols in place, the racy antics were through the roof.

In Rio de Janeiro in 2016 the Olympics were widely known as the Tinder Games with athletes far and wide creating profiles on the dating app as they looked to fill the time in between events.

While the online activity may be limited, it’s believed condoms have flooded the Olympic village with 200,000 condoms reportedly available for athletes, or around 20 per athlete.

A figure well up on the 160,000 handed out during the Tokyo Games, but well short of the reported 450,000 at the Rio Games in 2016.
