The time has finally come, State of Origin is upon us for another year.

Yet again New South Wales are the favourites for Game 1, a position reigning champions Queensland are very comfortable with.

When is State of Origin Game 1 NSW vs Queensland?

The huge opening match in this year’s series kicks off at 8.05pm AEST at Adelaide Oval.

How to watch State of Origin Game 1 live

All three games of the State of Origin series are live on Channel 9 and 9Now. You can stream it on 9Now by signing up for a free account. You can also watch a replay on Kayo Sports after the fulltime whistle.

Will Origin Game 1 kick-off on time?

Excellent question. This is an area the NRL keeps working on and still often can’t get quite right due to the pre-match entertainment and ceremonies. We wouldn’t be surprised if the opening whistle blows around 5-10 minutes after the scheduled start.

Who will win State of Origin Game 1?

Plenty of money will come in for the Blues, as always. But considering the disrupted lead-up for Brad Fittler’s team, we’ll lean towards a narrow Queensland victory to start the series.
