Bradman Best’s face said it all after he was brutally shut down by NRLW star Millie Elliott during a live interview following his team’s win on Friday night.

The gun centre sheepishly grinned after coming away without having made any contact with Boyle’s face after their interview inside the Knights’ dressing rooms at McDonald Jones Stadium.

The football field looked more like a puddle as the match was played in cyclonic conditions with the Knights emerging with a vital 30-10 win over the Dragons.

Awkward moment kiss rejected during NRL interview

Best was at one point seen thundering into the on-field advertising boards as he slid for a loose ball at full speed.

Sadly for him, the biggest blow came after the match when Elliott, who also works as a commentator with Channel 9, left him hanging.

Elliott, who last year jumped ship from the Knights to the Roosters as a massive signing coup for the Sydney club, is friends with many of the Knights players and got married to Knights forward Adam Elliott in October.

That doesn’t mean it wasn’t awkward when Elliott’s brief chat with Best fell apart when it came time for the pair to go their separate ways.

“We can see Bradman Best here, let’s go have a chat to him,” she told the live Channel 9 audience as she entered the Knights’ dressing room.

Best was seen wearing nothing but a towel.

The pair shared a friendly kiss on the cheek and side hug as Elliott approached with the microphone in hand.

“Braddy, you didn’t get a try tonight, but you did dive straight into the (signage) board, how was that,” she asked.

Best responded with: “Yeah, it was good. Got me a beauty. Disappointed I didn’t score it, but good comedy for the fans”.

Elliott followed the question by saying: “And what was it like tonight? Have you ever played in conditions like that?”

Best responded: “I was just saying to he boys, I don’t think I’ve ever played in that sort of weather. It was torrential, but glad we got the points”.

Elliott’s next question was: “Was it fun? Did it take you back to the days of playing footy in the back yard, rain hail or shine you’re out there playing?”

Best responded: “Yeah it did. It took me back to a little kid running out there playing in mud, slipping and sliding”.

Elliott signed off by saying: “Nice, thankyou very much Braddy...”

That’s when Best got his signals wrong and leaned in for a farewell peck, only for Elliott to offer him a tap on the shoulder.

“Go and put a shirt on and we’ll chat to somebody else.” Elliott said with a grin as she walked away.

At one point the camera man had to use his own hand to wipe the lens of the camera, such were the steamy conditions inside the Knights’ sheds after such a water-logged game of football.

Channel 9’s James Bracey introduced Elliott’s roaming segment inside the dressing room by saying, “It’s hot, steamy and I guess a little sweaty too in the sheds and Millie Boyle is right amongst it”.
