Latrell Mitchell and partner Brielle Mercy are celebrating the birth of their first son.

The Rabbitohs fullback on Friday shared photos of their new child with their Instagram followers after keeping their exciting pregnancy news under wraps.

The South Sydney star shared a photo of the adorable boy with the caption: “The Prince of winmarra has arrived”.

Winmarra, which translates to ‘mountain people’, refers to Mitchell’s personal clothing line.

The couple already have two daughters, Inala and Aleena.

The name of their new bundle of joy has not been announced.

The happy news was met with a flood of congratulatory messages from teammates and NRL figures.

Mercy received kind messages from Jack Wighton’s wife Monisha.

Rabbitohs star Cody Walker was among those to send messages to the pair.

“Congrats fam, can’t wait to meet him,” Cody Walker posted.

Rabbitohs captain Cameron Murray wrote: “Congrats guys”.

NRL stars Brian To’o, Josh Mansour and Andrew Fifita were also among the wellwishers.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs official Instagram account made a separate post of their own for the exciting arrival.

“Congrats to Latrell and Brielle on the birth of their son! Welcome to the (world) young fella,” the Rabbitohs wrote.

Mitchell has endured a rollercoaster 2023 after the Rabbitohs’ season fell apart in the second half of the year as he battled a series of injuries.

He was also rocked by the tragic death of his cousin last month.

Mitchell shared heartbroken public messages after his 14-year-old cousin died at the scene following a horror car crash near Casino in northern NSW.
