‘Biggest heartbreak’: NRL star, Miss World split after two-year marriage

Former Miss World Australia Courtney Thorpe and her husband have confirmed they stayed quiet about their separation until now.

Miss World Australia Courtney Thorpe has confirmed she and NRL star husband Jarrod Wallace kept their separation secret until now.

Thorpe says the split has been the “biggest heartbreak” of her life.

As reported by The Courier-Mail, the couple separated in September but have chosen not to speak publicly about the relationship breakdown in the best interest of their children.

Wallace, who was left out of the Titans side last week, has been completely scrubbed from Thorpe’s Instagram page.

The couple share two-year-old daughter Kennedy. Wallace has another two daughters from a previous relationship.

Thorpe has now gone public with the news in a radio interview and has suggested she will soon reveal more details in the future.

“Our marriage ended in September,” she said.

“I did fight to save it for a few months after that but it has been completely over for a while now.

“For the sake of the three girls I won’t ever go into all the nitty gritty details publicly but there are certain parts I will talk about further in my own way shortly.

“For now, I am just focusing on being the best mother for my daughter as my top priority, I am studying full time, have my very own podcast coming out soon and I have started working again, all of which I am so excited about.

“The old Courtney is coming back. It was the biggest heartbreak of my life, but I’m feeling better and better every day and excited for what’s ahead for my little girl and I.”

The couple married in 2019 in a secret ceremony on the Gold Coast.

They celebrated the birth of Kennedy in August 2019.

The baby arrived six weeks premature. Thorpe’s brave journey as a mum where she overcame post-partum depression is one of many reasons she has more than 93,000 followers on Instagram.

Meanwhile, the former Queensland State of Origin star is expected to make a switch to the Dolphins next year.

Wallace has played for the Titans since 2017, but the 30-year-old’s contract expires at the end of 2022.
