Lewis Hamilton wins the French Grand Prix as frustrated fans hit out
Lewis Hamilton won yet another race in 2019 but despite his heroics F1 fans were furious as they took aim during the French Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton cruised to victory in France, leading from start to finish as he secured another win in season 2019.
It was another perfect day for Mercedes as Valtteri Bottas followed behind his teammate to come second.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel (5th) was outgunned by colleague Charles Leclerc (3rd), while Red Bull star Max Verstappen just missed the podium in fourth.
Daniel Ricciardo was 11th for Renault after receiving two time penalties that left him furious.
F1 fans took to their keyboards to slam a “boring” French Grand Prix as Lewis Hamilton won again to cement Mercedes’ dominance.
He crossed the line a whopping 18 seconds ahead of Silver Arrows comrade Valtteri Bottas to reinforce his commanding lead at the top of the drivers’ championship.
But while Hamilton celebrated, those watching the borefest at the front of the pack weren’t so enthused about Mercedes going through the 53 laps unchallenged.
The commentators are right, this is a terrible Grand Prix. Utterly rubbish, dull, boring. For the fourth of fifth time this year, @F1 sort this sport out. If this were someoneâs first time watching a race, youâve lost them immediately.

The stewards have given this race a five-second penalty for coming back onto our TVs in a boring manner. #F1 #FrenchGP

The most boring race of the most boring season in, increasingly, the most pointless sport. I've had more fun sorting my sock drawer. #f1

The leader lapped the driver in 7th Place and the stewards are investigating the most awesome corner of action weâve seen all year.
Yeah - nothing to see here#F1
Hamilton led from pole to claim his sixth win of the season and extend Mercedes’ unbeaten run to 10 races.
This was five-time world champion Hamilton’s 79th career win and fourth in a row. He’s now just 12 race wins behind Michael Schumacher’s record of 91.
“I’ve been racing a long time but it never gets old. I couldn’t do what I do without this incredible team,” Hamilton said. “We’re making history together. I’m really hyped.”
Local driver Charles Leclerc for Ferrari came in third with Max Verstappen in a Red Bull filling fourth.
Bottas only just staved off Leclerc as the lead Ferrari launched a late assault on the second Mercedes en route to his first podium since Bahrain in March.
Sebastian Vettel finished only fifth from his disappointing seventh on the grid with early overtakes on both McLarens not leading to a sustained challenge on Verstappen.
Carlos Sainz was sixth for impressive McLaren, but there was late heartbreak for Lando Norris who slipped from seventh to 10th on the final lap amid late hydraulic problems on his car.
However, the manner in which the English rookie lost out is under investigation by the stewards.
Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo ran wide in his attempted overtake at the chicane and, as he came back on track, Norris then left the circuit. Alfa Romeo’s Kimi Raikkonen and the second Renault of Nico Hulkenberg made their way through.
