Wrestling fans have lost their minds at a stunning cameo from WWE boss Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 38 on Monday.

Roman Reigns won the historic unification match against Brock Lesnar at AT&T Stadium in Dallas but McMahon completely stole the show with an unexpected appearance in the ring.

After losing to Austin Theory in a scheduled match, former NFL star turned media personality Pat McAfee taunted McMahon, who was sitting ringside, challenging him to a fight.

McMahon, 76, took the bait and stripped off his suit and tie down to his black singlet and stepped into the ring for an impromptu match.

Before the bell rang, Theory struck McAfee from behind, opening the door for McMahon to take out the former NFL punter with a little more help from Theory.

The short match ended with McMahon punting a football into McAfee’s chest before pinning him.

McMahon has been WWE’s CEO and chairman for decades but it was his first match since 2012 and his first at WrestleMania since he lost to Bret Hart in 2010.

Wrestling fans couldn’t get enough of McMahon’s antics in his trademark black tank top he often wrestled in during the late 1990s, and were stunned by his chiselled physique.

Sports Illustrated host Robin Lundberg tweeted: “Vince McMahon is the best 76-year-old wrestler ever.”

NFL journalist Bobby Thompson said: “Vince McMahon is jacked for a 76 year old man.”

Former NFL star DeAngelo Williams said: “Vince McMahon giving old people everywhere false hope hahhahaha.”

But the drama didn’t end there.

As Theory and McMahon celebrated, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s music hit and the legend – who beat Kevin Owens in his return to the ring on Sunday – proceed to hit Theory with a Stone Cold Stunner.

He then shared a beer toast with McMahon – in a call back to their legendary on-screen rivalry – before delivering an awkward Stunner to the boss.

Fans lost their minds as McMahon proved why he is renowned for being one of the worst at selling Stunners with a shocking performance as his legs crumbled beneath him.

Wrestling commentator Mick Foley said on Twitter: “I hope Mr McMahon didn’t get injured - it looked like his leg buckled before the stunner.”

Sports writer John Supowitz added: “Stone Cold and Mr. McMahon having a match at WrestleMania is the peak resurgence of 90’s culture.”

McAfee wasn’t done yet as he too shared a beer with Austin, and like the two before him, took a Stunner of his own to a roaring crowd.

Letting Austin, 57, McMahon have their last match at the same WrestleMania appeared to be too good for WWE to pass up.
