Nestory Irankunda scores for second game in succession for Bayern Munich

Teenage sensation Nestory Irankunda has kept up his good pre-season form for Bayern Munich.

Adelaide teen’s record deal with football giants

Socceroos whiz kid Nestory Irankunda continues to shine in the pre-season for Bayern Munich, scoring for the second successive match to ensure the German giants avoided an embarrassing loss to fourth-tier outfit FC Duren.

The 18-year-old former Adelaide United star equalised for Bayern in the 69th minute after coming on as a substitute in a 1-1 draw at Karl-Knipprath Stadium.

It continued Irankunda’s goalscoring form after he also found the back of the net last week in his team’s 14-1 demolition of FC Rottach-Egern.

However, Bayern’s overall display didn’t please the club’s sporting director Christoph Freund.

“It wasn’t a good performance and you noticed that we’re tired,” Freund said.

“It wasn’t easy to play football, but of course we want to play better and have more fun with it. We struggled with that today.”

“It was power play in the final 30 minutes but we didn’t create as many chances as we wanted.”

However, Freund said “the young players did well”.

Bayern’s pre-season campaign will continue with consecutive games against the Ange Postecoglou-coached Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in Seoul and the following weekend in London.

Meanwhile, another former Adelaide attacker, Mo Toure, scored his first goal for Randers in the Danish club’s 3-1 Superliga weekend win over Viborg.

The Socceroos forward, who joined Randers earlier this month from French club Reims following a loan spell at Paris FC, netted his side’s third goal in the 76th minute after coming on as a second-half substitute.

The Randers side also included former Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Paul Izzo, who maintained his spot as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Elsewhere in Denmark, Socceroos striker John Iredale started for Aalborg BK in the team’s 2-1 win over Silkeborg.
