Nestory Irankunda and Ange Postecoglou set for pre-season meeting
With Bayern Munich and Tottenham to meet in a pre-season friendly in Seoul this weekend, two prominent Australian football identities will go into battle.
Socceroos sensation Nestory Irankunda is set to cross paths with Australia’s former national coach Ange Postecoglou when German giants Bayern Munich take on English Premier League club Tottenham on Saturday in a pre-season friendly in Seoul.
Irankunda, 18, as well as fellow Australian teenager, goalkeeper Anthony Pavlesic, are part of Bayern’s 26-strong squad that has travelled to South Korea.
The Postecoglou-managed Spurs have already played one match on their Korean tour, with Tottenham beating a K-League Select team 4-3 on Wednesday.

“Credit to the lads, they kept working hard,” Postecoglou said.
“We did some nice things, some not so nice things but I think they’ll feel better after getting through that game.
“We’ll get a lot out of it from that respect, from a physical standpoint. I think that’s positive.
“I think for us all these friendly games, the important thing is that they’re good exercises for us to keep building our fitness and keep building the way we want to play our football.
Former Adelaide United star Irankunda has made a good impression since moving to Bayern in June.
Coming off the bench, he scored in a 14-1 pre-season thrashing of German lower division club Rottach-Egern, and also found the back of the net, again after coming on as a substitute, in a 1-1 draw with another lower-tier outfit FC Duren.
Bayern and Spurs will also meet in another pre-season friendly next weekend at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
