REPLAY: Australia cruise to 4-0 series lead against West Indies

9.56pm AEDT - AUSTRALIA CRUISE TO FIVE-WICKET WIN

AUS 5/221 (44.5 overs)

Australia took a 4-0 lead in the five-game series with an incredibly comfortable five-wicket win with 31 balls to spare against the West Indies at the SCG. 

And it may have even been easier if not for a magnificent unbeaten 109 from Kieron Pollard, who dug in when the West Indies were reeling at 7/98 to carry them to a somewhat respectable 220.

But the Australians were in complete control throughout the chase, with Shane Watson top scoring with 76.

With the scores level and an Australian victory inevitable, Tino Best dismisses Michael Clarke, who gloves one down the leg side.

The skipper's out for 37 off 65 balls and leaves with a wry smile on his face.

Andre Russell picks up the wicket of Adam Voges for 28 (39).

Voges was attempting to guide a pull shot off Andre Russell put top edged it to Darren Sammy at mid-wicket.

Matty Wade joins Michael Clarke (31 off 52) out in the middle.

Eleven overs to go, and Australia need just 35 runs off 66 balls with seven wickets in hand.

Aussies just working the ball for ones and twos. That's all they have to do.

Phil Hughes makes his way to the pavilion, out for 23 off 44 balls after he bottom edged a Sunil Narine delivery to Dwayne Bravo at first slip.

Hughes was trying to sweep the ball from well outside off, but didn't succeed.

Another lucky break for Australia as the West Indians fluff a runout.

Shane Watson would have been out by a long way but the bowler Narsingh Deonarine knocked the bail off with his arm as he reached over the stumps to gather the throw.

In the same eventful over, Phil Hughes narrowly gets his toe back in to avoid a stumping chance.

Hughes is 20 off 37 and Watson 52 from 60.

Shane Watson backs up his 122 against the Windies on Wednesday by bringing up his half ton off 58 balls at the SCG.

It's also brought up Australia's 100 as they appear to be cruising towards their target of 221.

WATSON DROPPED!

The keeper Devon Thomas has put down a regulation catch behind the stumps that would have removed the in-form Shane Watson for 32.

Dwayne Bravo through his hands in the air in anguish as Thomas grassed a relatively easy catch, moving to his right at waist height.

Will Watson make them pay?

Shane Watson looking as much in control as he did during his wonderful comeback 100 on Wednesday at Manuka.

He's hit four boundaries in his 32 from 40 balls. Phil Hughes is the other man out there, on eight from 20.

Aaron Finch is trapped in front trying to play back to the spinner Sunil Narine.

The Aussies also wasted their review, as the replay showed it was clipping the top of the stumps and that the umpire's original decision of out was indeed the right one.

Finch is gone for 25 off 30.

The Aussies looking very comfortable at this stage. 

Sensible batting, putting away the loose ones for that one boundary an over. 

Finch was dropped on a very touch return catch chance by Tino Best, but other than that it has been a smooth start for the hosts.

Solid start from the Australians, travelling at five runs an over.

Seven runs from that Andre Russell over, including an Aaron Finch pull shot for four.

Australia make a watchful start to their chase, with just two runs coming from the opening over from Tino Best.

6pm AEDT - WI ALL OUT FOR 220 (49.4 overs)

A magnificent, unbeaten 109 from Kieron Pollard has lifted the West Indies out of huge trouble at 7/98 to a respectable total of 220 at the SCG.

Pollard fought hard throughout his innings before opening his shoulders late on to bring up his ton off 132 balls, his innings including 11 fours and two sixes.

Mitchell Johnson was on fire early, removing the top three West Indies batsman on his way to figures of 3/36.

Ben Cutting was also impressive, taking 3/45.

The last wicket to fall was No.11 Tino Best, who was run out for one from the deep going for a second.

Great knock from Narine - 23 off 22. His crucial parternship with Kieron Pollard was worth 64.

Oh, man. Kieron Pollard just smacked James Faulkner for six to mid on - and hit thumped into the side of the head of a security guard on the full! They appear to be OK.

Huge over from the Windies, taking 16 runs from it.

Kieron Pollard in sight of ton, on 87 off 118 balls. Sunil Narine has made 23 very handy runs from just 21 balls.

Big 12-run over from the West Indies, as Kieron Pollard hits Ben Cutting for three fours.

Pollard is up to 74 from 109 and Sunil Narine is making crucial runs when the strike isn't being shielded from him, moving to 13 off 12.

Kieron Pollard brings up his half ton off 95 balls in a mature innings that many will have thought was beyond him.

He has saved the West Indies from total embarrassment today.

Andre Russell succumbs to his natural game and goes for the big blow down the ground.

Problem is, the "Big Show" Glenn Maxwell is waiting at long off and takes the easiest of catches.

James Faulkner was the bowler, taking his first wicket of the innings.

Russell is out for 18 off 17.

Ben Cutting has hurt Kieron Pollard here, smacking him on the thumb with a well-directed short ball the West Indian tried to fend away high on his toes.

The glove comes off and Pollard receives treatment. He's in pain but he bats on.

4.51pm AEDT - WI 7/108 (35 overs)

Kieron Pollard brought up the West Indies' 100 with the best shot of the day, a crushing straight drive all the way along the ground off a Ben Cutting half volley.

He has moved to 40 from 85 balls. Andre Russell (2 off 5) is the other man in.

Both men can hit a ball a long way, but the focus now is to bat these overs out. 

In the commentary box, Mike Hussey says he's never seen Pollard play such a restrained innings in his life.

WICKET!

The West Indies' best partnership of the innings has come to an end.

Darren Sammy is out caught at first slip quite comfortably by Michael Clarke off the bowling of Ben Cutting, who has 3/17 now from his six overs.

The bounce seemed to surprise Sammy, and the ball caught the edge high on the bat as he took a tentative step forward.

Sammy is out for 25 off 42 balls and his 43-run stand with Kieron Pollard (32 off 72) is over.

Good news for the Windies, with Mitchell Johnson bowling out his 10 overs.

Johnson was in outstanding form early on, picking up the first three scalps of the innings.

He finished with the handy figures of 3/36.

Spinner Glenn Maxwell as also bowled out, taking 1/34.

Kieron Pollard and Darren Sammy showing this pitch is not the minefield that the earlier collapse to 6/55 might have suggested.

Pollard, concentrating hard and putting his big-hitting instincts on the backburner, is 29 off 62.

Kieron Pollard, renowned for his heavy hitting, is doing his best to dig in and stick around.

He's fought his way to 21 off 49. The skipper Darren Sammy is with him on six off 17.

A third good Aaron Finch catch of the innings at second slip brings Devon Thomas' knock to an end for seven off six balls.

Ben Cutting gets his second, but it took a long time for the umpires to make the call after it was unclear whether the edge had carried.

Finch himself wasn't sure but replays showed he got his fingers under the ball.

Cutting doing the damage with old fashioned line and length.

Narsingh Deonarine is gone for 10 from 16 balls, out caught at second slip by Aaron Finch off the bowling of Ben Cutting. 

The ball flew and it was good hands again from Finch, taking it with two hands high to his left.

Kieron Pollard (1 off 14) and Narsingh Deonarine (7 off 6) tasked with digging the Windies out of this hole.

Deonarine had removed his chest guard thinking Mtichell Johnson was out of the attack. He's not, and the guard is back on.

Glenn Maxwell gets in on the act, trapping Dwayne Bravo in front for three off eight balls.

The original decision was not out but Matty Wade persuaded Michael Clarke to go for the review - and he was right.

The spun back viciously and caught Bravo in line and there was nothing wrong with the height. Gone.

Mitchell Johnson is on fire at the SCG.

He digs this one in short to Darren Bravo's ribs and the Windies batsman attempts to fend it away.

Bravo can only manage to edge it high to Aaron Finch who takes a sharp catch moving forward in at second slip.

Bravo is gone for four off 16 and Mitchell Johnson has figures of 3/11 off four.

Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard the two new men at the crease.

Mitchell Johnson picks up his second, as Kieran Powell departs for nine off 29 balls following a leading edge that balloons to Glenn Maxwell at point.

Powell was trying to work the ball on the onside but the ball went in exactly the opposite direction he had intended.

Great start by Australia.

Darren Bravo breaks the shackles, with the first boundary of the innings, even if it wasn't very cleanly hit.

It's a wayward over from the wicket-taker Mitchell Johnson and the four is flicked to the square leg boundary.

Bravo is four off seven and Kieran Powell seven off 26.

Mitchell Johnson strikes, sending Johnson Charles' off stump cartwheeling with a peach of a delivery that comes back off a good length.

Charles is gone for a three-ball duck.

At the other end, Kieran Powell has been slow to get away again, swinging and missing his way to three off 20 balls. 

Darren Bravo, who was in very good touch in Canberra, comes to the crease.

Kieran Powell, who made a stellar 47 off 49 balls at Manuka, opening the batting with new man Johnson Charles - in for the injured Chris Gayle.

Clint McKay's first over is a maiden to Powell.

2pm AEDT - WINDIES WIN TOSS, BAT FIRST

The West Indies won the toss and will bat first at the SCG.

One big change at the top of the order for the tourists, with Chris Gayle out after battling with a hamstring problem on Wednesday.

Ramnaresh Sarwan and Kemar Roach are also out, with Johnson Charles, Narsingh Deonarine and Tino Best coming in.

The Australians are without George Bailey, who has a hamstring strain. He is replaced by Adam Voges.

Mitchell Starc - a hero in the first two wins of the series - has been given a rest, with Ben Cutting named in his place.

Australia take an unassailable 3-0 lead into the fourth one-dayer of the five-game series after a Shane Watson ton set up a 39-run win in Wednesday night's clash at Manuka.

The series heads to Sydney now where the weather is hot and sunny and the West Indies desperate not to get swept.
