Paul Gallen has said all along he was unhappy with rival Justs Huni’s fight just weeks out from their highly anticipated showdown - but now his rival’s promoter claims the NRL legend is “blowing up” behind the scenes.

The two boxers exchanged heated words again in Sydney on Tuesday, but it is Huni’s next fight against Christian Tsoye on May 26 that has caused the most friction between the camps.

The Tsoye fight, for the Australian heavyweight boxing championship, is just weeks out from the blockbuster June 16 fight at the ICC Exhibition Centre in Sydney.

The fight was moved forward to allow Huni more preparation time for his Tokyo Olympics campaign.

From the outset there has been drama between the two camps.

Huni and his team have reportedly agreed to hand the former NRL star 85 per cent of the money from the fight.

It comes just days after the pair came face-to-face at rugby league’s Magic Round in Brisbane with the former NRL star flipping off his young future opponent.

Gallen on Monday responded to claims from Huni’s promoter Dean Lonergan by saying he is more incredulous than angry about the risk of losing his reported $1 million payday should, Huni be injured in his fight with Tsoye.

“I would p*** myself laughing if he got knocked out by Christian Tsoye, I would love it,” he said.

Huni’s agent Dean Lonergan claimed Gallen was “blowing up” about the fight and called the former NSW State of Origin star “full of s**t” for suggesting he is not desperate for the biggest payday of his boxing career when he steps into the ring against Huni.

Gallen said it was “ridiculous” for Huni to disrespect both himself and Tsoye - and the Australian Olympic team with his stacked fight schedule.

However, he said the most disrespect is being shown to Tsoye.

“I’ve been trying to get it cancelled from the time we started this negotiation two weeks ago,” Gallen also told foxsports.com.au.

“I think it’s ridiculous that he’s going to be doing this.

“Forget about me, what about his Australian Olympic team? I can’t believe he’s allowed to fight me, let alone against Christian Tsoye next week. Where’s his loyalty to his teammates there? What if he gets hurt or injured, knocked out, there’s plenty of things that can go wrong in heavyweight boxing.”

Gallen has also put an end to the squabble surrounding the promotional posters being used to advertise the event.

The promotional ads featured Huni at the front of posters, depicting Huni as the Terminator with a tag line promoting the fight as “Termination Day” for Gallen.

The argument with Lonergan surrounding the posters has since been settled by the agreement to move Gallen to the front of the posters, pushing Huni to the back.
