Not content with beating one UFC star, Paul Gallen wants to take care of a second.

The rugby league legend called out Robert Whittaker after extending his unbeaten streak in the boxing ring to 11 with victory over Mark Hunt in Sydney on Wednesday night.

Gallen and Hunt slugged out a six-round war that had fans clamouring for more before the judges awarded the former NSW Origin captain a unanimous points decision.

And Gallen is already eyeing off another blockbuster, telling Whittaker he wants to go toe-to-toe with the gloves on.

“What’s next? Robert Whittaker, I watched you about a year ago, you had an interview and you were asked if you’d fight me,” Gallen said in the ring after the fight.

“You said, ‘Yeah I’d fight him, but he wouldn’t fight me’ and you gave a condescending laugh.

“I’m here mate, and I’m happy to meet you in here (the ring), but stop pricing yourself out of it.

“I’ve got nothing but respect for Rob, I know him reasonably well but I’m just going to beat him, I’m going to beat him like I beat Mark.

“I’m going to train hard and prepare for it, I’m going to have a good game plan. I’m just going to get in there and smash him.”

Gallen then repeated his beef with Whittaker after the bout.

“He laughed, in a way that annoyed me,” Gallen said referring to Whittaker’s comments about the league legend on a podcast last year.

“I thought ‘stuff you, you condescending pr**k, you know?

“I’ll fight ya.”

Whittaker’s team was reportedly after a $1.5 million payday to step in the ring with Gallen, a claim revealed in the lead-up to the Sydney Super Fight and sparking the footy star’s reference to Whittaker “pricing” himself out of a potential clash.

Whittaker has fought twice in the UFC in 2020, recording unanimous points decision wins over Darren Till in July and Jared Cannonier in October as he bounced back following a loss to Israel Adesanya in late 2019.

Gallen and Hunt put on one heck of a show for boxing lovers at Bankwest Stadium. Hunt’s incredible power was on show as he rocked Gallen with several heavy punches but somehow the Sharks great stayed on his feet for the entire feet and landed enough blows of his own to win the judges’ favour.
