Jake Paul left with black eye, busted tooth after stealing Floyd’s hat
A wild melee exploded in Miami after YouTube boxer Jake Paul went too far by taking the hat off Floyd Mayweather’s head.
YouTube prankster turned boxing sensation Jake Paul was always going to go too far at some point — and today he did.
In Miami to support his older brother Logan as he prepares to square off with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout next month, Jake found himself face-to-face with the former champ at Hard Rock Stadium.
As they jawed at each other about making a fight of their own, Jake grabbed Floyd’s cap off his head, saying: “Gotcha hat!”
Mayweather exploded, rushing at the 24-year-old who was immediately grabbed by security as a scuffle broke out.
Logan Paul also leapt into the fray to help his brother, before everyone was separated.
As he was dragged away Mayweather’s fury was on full display as he roared: “I’ll kill you motherf*****! Are you crazy? I’ll f*** you up, motherf*****. I don’t play motherf***ing games. I’ll f*** you up.”
Mayweather, Jake Paul react to incident
Speaking about the incident later, Mayweather said: “It’s one thing to sell a fight, and people can say what they want, but one thing no one is going to do, is disrespect me.”
Paul appeared to have a black eye and a busted tooth in a video he posted afterwards to Instagram.
He claimed one of Mayweather’s bodyguards did the damage.
“Honestly have had three easy fights as a pro so been itching for some real action,” Paul tweeted. “One of Floyd’s 30 bodyguards got a clean shot on me in the eye. RESPECT!”
“Word on the street already is that Floyd is sending goons after me to try and kill me or hurt me,” he added. “If I die ... I died for the hat.”
Paul is already hawking “gotcha hat” hats on his personal website and appears to have the phrase tattooed on his leg.
What Logan Paul had to say
It’s a bizarre turn-of-events given all involved were supposed to be there to promote Mayweather’s fight against Logan Paul.
Logan was captured saying “what the f*** did he do?” as he walked away from the scene.
“This s*** is so personal; this s*** was going to be kind of cute and we were going to put on a good show but now it’s going to be a f***ing fight, it’s going to be a war,” he added later.

Conor McGregor weighs in
Mayweather’s last professional boxing opponent, UFC star Conor McGregor, chimed in to take another shot at the men who defeated him convincingly in 2017.
“What the fuck is Floyd at?” McGregor wrote on Instagram.
“The kid (Jake Paul) curled up, didn’t fight back once, and Floyd is still running around acting the tough guy.
“The kid actually just pulled this shambles of a situation Floyd is in out of the drain for him.
He should thank him. It’s embarrassing!
“Pro to pro it’s embarrassing. He will not scratch $10m for this fight and he knows it. It was cancelled once already. The world is watching this on Twitter. He’d fight a half decent pro and command $20m upwards, yet it’s this shit.
“Whatever way you spin this, it’s sad. Fight someone for real, on your record, or fuck off mate.”
Who are Jake and Logan Paul?
If you’re still not familiar with the Paul brothers, they rose to fame posting prank videos on YouTube.
They’ve leveraged their enormous social media popularity into burgeoning boxing careers — especially Jake who is 3-0.
He defeated another YouTuber in his debut before knocking out former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s return last year and then exploding as a bona fide pay-per-view star after knocking out ex-UFC fighter Ben Askren last month.
None of those opponents are legitimate boxers but it hasn’t mattered as hundreds of thousands of fight freaks fork out the cash to catch the circus that surrounds the 178cm loudmouth.
Logan has had just one professional bout, a loss to fellow YouTuber KSI, but has landed the biggest fish in the last 20 years of boxing by getting Mayweather to agree to a fight on June 6.
