American star unrecognisable after crazy body transformation

A $40 million American star has popped up after years of anonymity looking nothing like the player he once was.

Former American baseball star Kyle Farnsworth is barely recognisable after a crazy body-building transformation.

Most fans haven’t heard from the 46-year-old since he finished up his major league baseball career in 2014.

The man they will see when he enters his first body-building competition this week looks nothing like the star player that once pitched the ball near 160km/h.

He has tried to keep a low profile in recent years, but that anonymity was blown to pieces on Wednesday morning when he posted a rare gym photo showing him looking like a tank on social media.

Farnsworth entered MLB in 1999 with a skinny frame and nerdy glasses.

After a 19-year career with nine different teams, Farnsworth hung up his cleats, with more than $40 million in earnings.

With more time in professional baseball and more time in the gym, he finished his career with a 1.93m, 104kg frame.

He is nothing like that any more.

Farnsworth’s photo came just four days before his upcoming qualifier for the NPC Southern USA championship in Orlando.

“Very rare gym bathroom selfie,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Four days out to my first body building competition. Classic Physique. These past few days have been fun with no carbs.”

He has picked up a new army of fans since he began documenting his transformation into the titan he now resembles.

He also showed fans a glimpse of his progress in photos posted last month.

However, it was Wednesday’s post that caused his journey to go racing across the internet.

CBS TV host Ben Becker wrote on Twitter: “Kyle Farnsworth is absolutely jacked now. Holy bleep”.

Boston-based sports gambling expert Emerson Lotzia wrote: “Holy s*** kyle farnsworth looks like he ate kyle farnsworth”.

American sports commentator Darren Rovell summed it up perfectly with one photo.

Farnsworth quit the MLB when he was dumped to the minor leagues before resuming his career in Mexico in 2015.

He also stunned the fans in the United States when he popped up playing semi-professional American football in Florida with the Orlando Phantoms.

He had previously played top-level high school football as a Georgia high schooler, but was forced to choose baseball over football.

Playing as a defensive end, his football career stretched into 2017.

Five years later he is back and bigger than eve before.
