A CROWS premiership cup will overflow with joy if co-captain Erin Phillips is able to hold it aloft this weekend — because she plans to put her twin babies twins inside it.

Four-month-old twins Blake and Brooklyn have also made the journey to the Gold Coast for Saturday’s inaugural AFLW grand final at Metricon Stadium, along with Phillips’ wife, Tracy Gahan, who gave birth in November.

Before she jetted out on Thursday morning, Phillips said she hadn’t thought twice about having the twins travel to the game.

“They’re coming, they wouldn’t miss this,” she said.

“I wouldn’t live it down for the rest of my life if they grew up knowing they weren’t at the first ever women’s grand final and mum was playing.

“It’s pretty special to have them with me and hopefully I can fit them in the cup if we win it.”

Blake and Brooklyn — along with the rest of the Phillips family, which includes Erin’s father Greg, a Port Adelaide great — have become constant companions of the Crows first women’s team.

Phillips suggested she and Gahan would not be short of babysitters during the Queensland trip.

“I feel like they’ve grown up with this group of girls,” she said.

“It’s a sneaky ploy from us to bring them on the trip because we know they will get looked after and we will get a break.

“They’ve got lots of aunties, we’re one big family here.”

Many of the family, friends and Crows members and supporters will travel on specially chartered Crows’ jets on Saturday morning and return later that night, in time for the men’s game on Sunday.

The women’s team will fly back to Adelaide on Sunday morning to be back in time to also be present at the Crows’ season-opener against Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval.
