THE AFL has announced the first ever AFLW All-Australian squad of 40 and its no surprise it’s dominated by Adelaide and Brisbane Lions players.
The undefeated Lions have nine players nominated for the inaugural team, headed by marquees Tayla Harris and Sabrina Frederick-Traub and captain Emma Zielke.
Melbourne, who missed out on a Grand Final berth by only percentage to Adelaide is the second-most nominated club with six including gun midfielders Daisy Pearce, Karen Paxman and Elise O’Dea.
Grand finalists Adelaide has five nominations, including cult figure Sarah Perkins.
Perkins, who was remarkably overlooked in the draft, has been a revelation this season booting 11 goals in six matches as a key forward.
