Adelaide forward Jared Petrenko ready for another lock-down role on Geelong star Corey Enright

ADELAIDE forward Jared Petrenko has flagged a rematch with Geelong All-Australian Corey Enright at Simonds Stadium on Saturday.

ADELAIDE forward Jared Petrenko has flagged a rematch with Geelong All-Australian Corey Enright at Simonds Stadium on Saturday.

Petrenko, who has established himself as the Crows' best defensive forward this year, was outstanding against Enright in Round 7 at AAMI Stadium, restricting the Cats defender to just seven kicks.

And after performing a similar stopping job on West Coast's Shannon Hurn on Saturday, Petrenko is primed for more at Simonds Stadium.

"I haven't really spoken to Sando (Crows coach Brenton Sanderson) about it yet,'' said Petrenko, who has laid 52 tackles this season.

"But that (game against Geelong) is in the back of my mind. I had to play on Hurn on the weekend and I'm preparing to play another role like that. He (Enright) is such a great player as he really sets up their attacks.

"If I can keep him (Enright) quiet and help the rest of the team out I will be happy to do it.''

Despite missing Rounds 15 and 16 with a foot injury, Petrenko has thrived under the guidance of Sanderson this season.

"I've had to play a bit of a selfless role,'' Petrenko said.

"So I've just had to stick at it. I'm not kicking the goals and getting a lot of touches but what I'm doing for the team is really important so I will just keep doing that.

"My teammates drive me to do that as well, it's not just the coaching staff. We have our meetings and the players rev me up to keep doing it as it gives them all a spark. When you hear that you are doing things well, you just want to keep doing them.''
