Adelaide coach Brenton Sanderson says the Crows will monitor Kurt Tippett's return

ADELAIDE coach Brenton Sanderson has revealed key forward Kurt Tippett will travel to Melbourne to meet with a concussion expert.
Tippett is facing a stint on the sidelines following a head-clash with West Coast Eagle Beau Waters at the weekend.
It’s the 25-year-old’s third concussion injury in five weeks and sparked speculation Tippett could spend an extended period out of the side.
Sanderson watered down concerns Tippett was clumsy in his attack on the contest, instead putting the string of concussions down to “wrong place, wrong time”.
"So it's nothing about his technique, and it's nothing about him being clumsy or anything like that," he said on SEN this morning.
"He's never had a concussion in his life until five weeks ago."
Sanderson said it was unlikely Tippett would play against Geelong on Saturday.
“We’re taking it very slowly,” Sanderson said.
“He’s on his way to Melbourne either today or tomorrow to visit a neurosurgeon who specialises in sporting concussions.”
Sanderson said the club was keen on getting as much information as it could from one of Australia’s leading concussion experts.
“My gut feeling is that he wouldn’t play this week, but he’d certainly play the week after,” he said.
“But then again, I’m just the coach, and I’ve got to listen to the medical team.”
