Adam Treloar has put a convincing line through rumours linking him to a move up to Queensland.

The Collingwood star’s future was thrown into the limelight after news his partner Kim Ravaillion had signed a deal to move to Queensland came to light.

Ravaillion is an Australian representative who last played for Super Netball’s Collingwood Magpies in 2019 before taking this year off for the birth of the couple’s first child, Georgie.

She will resume her career in 2021 with the Queensland Firebirds and, SEN reports, will move to Brisbane with her daughter.

The news of Ravaillion’s move sparked the rumour mill into action with AFL360 host’s Mark Robinson and Gerard Whateley believing Treloar would follow her north.

“We’ve got to know Adam and what a family man he is. It’s hard for us to imagine Adam living away from his partner – and his baby,” Whateley said.

“Hard to imagine? It won’t happen, Gerard. It won’t happen. This is a big story,” Robinson interjected.

“Adam has spoken about his mental health battles through his life, thinking he wasn’t ever good enough to play AFL or achieve in life. He found a wonderful partner, they’ve had a child together, it’s wonderful, and now Adam’s going to let her go play Super Netball in Brisbane?

“I’m sitting here tonight thinking Adam Treloar may have played his last game for Collingwood.”

“I think he will be with his family next year and if his family is going to be in Queensland, he’ll be playing his footy in Queensland,” Whateley added.

But on Tuesday night Treloar was quick to shut down the rumours linking him with a move to Queensland, saying he never considered leaving Collingwood.

Treloar also wasn’t happy the rumours focused on his playing future, instead of focusing on Ravaillion’s return to professional sport.

“Firstly, I never considered going anywhere and I never would. I’m a contracted player at the Collingwood Football Club and there’s a reason why I moved to Victoria to play for Collingwood,” Treloar said on Fox Footy’s AFL360.

“The most disappointing thing over the last 24 hours for me and my family is Kimmy didn’t get to break the story herself which is really disappointing and the story should be about her and the way she’s been able to come back and get to where she’s got to signing a contract to play her professional sport.

“She made a huge sacrifice for us as a family to start our family in the middle of her prime career. We chose to have a child and she sacrificed her body for that and gave up so much time and so much love to the game.

“The sacrifice for me is something extremely small for me with 10 months. Realistically, Kim probably has two to three years of really good netball in her and we want to keep going with our family.

“Never in my mind did I ever consider going anywhere.”

Treloar wasn’t a fan of how the rumour mill had spun so far out of control and that the couple hadn’t made a snap decision.

“People talk to me like I’m a five, six, seven-year-old kid and I don’t know what I’m doing – obviously it wasn’t an overnight decision,” he said.

“...I’ve got no doubt there are going to be challenges and there’ll be times where I’ll miss her dearly but I’m so very excited for the challenges ahead.

“I’m so excited about the fact Georgie gets to see her Mum and Dad play professional sport.”

Treloar joined Collingwood ahead of the 2016 season after starting his AFL career with the GWS Giants.

The midfielder has become one of the league’s best game breakers and will once again play a key role in helping Collingwood attempt a deeper push into the finals.
