Perth man accused of recording 45 children

A man who is already accused of secretly recording five young children has been hit with 55 new charges.

Police have uncovered an alleged 40 new young victims of a man who is accused of recording children inside a Perth sports centre.

The 24-year-old man was first arrested in May over allegations that he recorded a child in a cubicle at a Craigie facility.

He was charged with indecently recording before police uncovered what they alleged were four more victims.

The man was being held in custody on remand on Thursday when detectives from the WA Police Child Abuse Squad hit him with an additional 55 charges.

The 24-year-old has been charged with an additional 49 counts of indecently recording a child and six counts of indecently dealing with a child.

He is facing a total of 75 criminal charges.

The man appeared before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on Friday.
