Parks for People: Share your photos of WA’s national parks
NAMBUNG National Park is the setting of today’s top photo. Send us your best snap of a WA national park to win a trip to Ningaloo.
TO celebrate WA’s national and marine parks, The Sunday Times and PerthNow is helping launch the Parks for People photo competition.
Parks for People is a $21 million government scheme to create more high-quality, low-cost accommodation in WA’s national parks.
It will deliver at least 450 new camp and caravan sites in 16 national parks.
PARKS FOR PEOPLE PHOTO GALLERY
The Sunday Times and PerthNow are inviting you to share a picture of you and your family and friends in your favourite WA national or marine park.
Yesterday, PerthNow picked its favourite reader picture of the day, which was a stunning photograph of an inquisitive sea lion at Jurien Marine Park, taken by Rebecca Brooks.
There will be two winners selected each week to experience the best of what WA has to offer. A weekly runner-up will receive an annual Gold Star Pass to National Parks statewide.
This week’s winners will either win a trip to the Ningaloo coast or to the Warren and D’Entrecasteaux national parks.
The Ningaloo prize package is for two adults and includes return flights with Qantas, transfers and two nights in a wilderness tent with eco-friendly ensuite at Sal Salis Resort in Cape Range National Park.
All meals and beverages from a select open bar are included. The holiday also includes unlimited use of snorkel equipment, as well as daily guided activities such as snorkelling, kayaking and gorge walks.
The second major prize is two-nght family “glamping” adventure for two adults and two children in Warren National Park near Pemberton and an ecotour of D’Entrecasteaux National Park.
All camping equipment is provided, including a 4WD tour, barbecue facilities, toilets, shower, kitchen sink and handwashing facilities.
During your stay you will be taken on a tour to D’Entrecasteaux National Park with Pemberton Discovery Tours and experience the largest inland dune system in the Southern Hemisphere.
All photographs entered in the Parks for People Photo Competition will be published on PerthNow, with our pictorial editor picking a daily photograph of the day.
