Perth hairdresser makes big hair easier with Hot Teaze hair product

A PERTH hairdresser has invented a product that makes it easier to have voluminous hair, with her Hot Teaze product to hit shelves in January.

WOMEN wanting voluminous hair will no longer have to worry about teasing and backcombing.

Pearsall resident Anne Vine, 63, has come up with a product that is similar to a crimping iron and gives instant thickness and height.

The Hot Teaze looks like a hair straightener but works differently, adding volume through the ceramic iron’s square grooves.

“I’ve been using it for five years I can’t bear to go out without using it,” Ms Vine, a former hairdresser, said.

“There isn’t anything like this on the market that makes your hair look like this, it’s amazing.

“You get the same volume from teasing it into a lump and it doesn’t look set and sprayed, which is so ­ageing.”

Ms Vine came up with the idea after having children when her hair went “very fine and flat”.

“I thought, ‘How can I make it look fuller?’ I used to crimp the roots of my hair, it was quite difficult and time consuming,” she said.

“I wanted to have a product that made the hair bigger, no one has harnessed that, that slides through the area (where) you want the height or width.”

The entrepreneur joined forces with her “business-minded” niece Janet Cocks and they started planning and designing the hair tool in 2011.

The first orders are now being manufactured in China and will hit the shelves at local hairdressers in January, retailing for about $250.
