The mother who was found dead next to her baby in Perth on Monday has been identified.

Nurse Chloe Prince was found dead next to the infant, believed to be her three-month-old daughter, at around 11am.

Ms Prince’s partner, and the baby’s father, Andrew Standing, is believed to have found the bodies.

He is not a suspect and police are treating the tragedy as a possible murder suicide.

According to The West Australian, Ms Prince, 39, studied as a nurse in Kalgoorlie before she began work at Midland’s St John of God Public Hospital.

The hospital’s CEO Paul Dyer said his team offered their “deepest condolences” to those affected by the deaths.

“We have been made aware of the recent tragic death of one of our caregivers who had worked at the hospital as a nurse on our wards,” Mr Dyer said.

“We are very conscious of the sadness surrounding this incident and are taking the time today to speak with those with whom this caregiver worked closely.

“Both to advise them of this unfortunate news and to offer support in the form of access to peer support and counselling services.

“We will also be communicating with our broader caregiver community to ensure they are aware of the support services that we are able to offer.”

Shocked neighbours told how they would often see Ms Prince coming home from night shifts in scrubs.

A police spokesman said officers were called to the family’s home in Robinson Road, Morley, in Perth’s east, on Monday morning at around 11am.

“Upon arrival, an adult female and an infant child were located deceased,” a police spokesman said.

“Major crime division detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the two deaths.”

A short time later a local council ranger arrived to remove a small, white dog from the scene, while forensic officers searched the property throughout the afternoon.

According to property records, Ms Prince bought the single-storey home on Robinson Road for $422,000 in 2017, Daily Mail Australia reports.

But despite living there for six years, neighbours said the couple would mainly keep themselves to the themselves.

Pictures on social media paint a picture of a very private couple who doted on their pet pugs.

“(The road) was all blocked off by about six cop cars … then I seen a Ranger, and they brought a little dog out of the house,” Beth Tulloh, who lives on the same street, told reporters.

She said she heard sirens when police first arrived on Monday morning and was shocked to see the street turn into a crime scene.

“I feel for the whole family … it just doesn’t happen here,” Ms Tulloh added.

Peter Stanton, 77, told The West that the news was “nauseating”.

“There is a man, woman and a child who live there, that’s all I’ve ever seen,” Mr Stanton said.

“I didn’t see them outside very much at all and I take my dog out for a walk frequently.

“They weren’t the kind of people that were out in the garden or that sort of thing at all.

“I’m very surprised to hear what’s happened.”

Mr Stanton added that the man who lives at the home appeared to be a night shift worker and “mostly sleeps in the day”.

Another neighbour, who did not want to be named, said the mother seemed like a “nice person”.

“I’ve seen the kid and the mum before and I’d say hello,” he said.

Parents who would normally use Robinson Rd to pick their kids up from school were being turned away by police who had the road blocked off.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident, or who saw or heard anything suspicious in the vicinity of Robinson Road this morning, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online,” the police spokesperson said.

Local MP Amber-Jade Sanderson, who is also the state’s Minister for both Health and Mental Health, expressed her condolences on social media.

“Today, a terrible incident unfolded in Morley,” she wrote on her official Facebook page.

“We don’t know the circumstances yet and we must let the police investigate.

“If you or a loved one is struggling, please reach out for help.”

Morley is about 10km northeast of Perth’s CBD.
