A young boy has been hospitalised with serious injuries after the second critical e-scooter crash in recent weeks.

A young boy enjoying his school holidays has been hospitalised after colliding with a bus while riding his electric scooter.

Western Australian Police said the 12-year-old was riding the e-scooter in the Perth suburb of Wangara about 11am Friday when his scooter collided with a Toyota commuter bus at an intersection.

The boy was taken to Perth Children’s Hospital with serious injuries, while the 43-year-old man driving the bus was unharmed.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash at the intersection of Wanneroo and Ocean Reef Roads.

They can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or making an anonymous report online.

The incident follows a similar crash in Greenwood, another northern suburb of Perth, on March 24.

A 15-year-old riding an e-scooter suffered critical injuries after being hit by a Holden Captiva station wagon along Hepburn Ave.

Two girls – aged 11 and 13 – were taken to hospital with broken bones after another similar crash with a car in the northeastern Perth suburb of Ellenbrook on December 15.
