Police are hunting for three men after they fled from a stolen ute after it drifted from the road and crashed into a tree on Tuesday.

Police are hunting for three men who fled the scene after crashing a stolen ute into a tree in Melbourne’s north.

Police spotted the Nissan Navara ute on Rio Grande Drive in Roxburgh Park on Tuesday about 3.15pm.

The ute then turned on to Marne Drive and struck a parked car before speeding off.

CCTV shows the maroon ute drifting around the corner of a suburban street, before losing control, leaving the road and crashing into a tree.

The three men in the ute then took off on foot.

“Investigators have released CCTV vision of the incident in the hope of identifying three people who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

CCTV footage shows two men of Middle Eastern or Mediterranean appearance, aged 15 to 20, and a third person with long black hair tied in a ponytail.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact police.
