Templestowe: Feng shui master helped to shape grand mansion with China-imported fountain
For more than $6m, this Templestowe mansion where a feng shui master helped to position the fountain imported from China could be yours – along with the pool, cinema, lift and spiral staircase.
A palatial acreage tended to by a feng shui master is offering up a grand family lifestyle in Templestowe.
The six-bedroom, six-bathroom property boasts a pool, cinema, solid hardwood spiral staircase and even an elevator.
If that’s not enough to convince potential buyers, an extensive outdoor entertaining “pavilion” is perfect for hosting friends and family, while a fountain at the front entrance to the home has been specially positioned by the feng shui master.

“The fountain was imported from China and was originally three levels high,” Jellis Craig Doncaster partner Shaun Wang says.
“And a feng shui master told them it was too big for the house (so they took two levels off).”
Wang says his vendors built the spacious property at 3 Wayamba Place about 10 years ago.
It’s now listed for sale with a $6m-$6.6m asking price.
“They designed and built it for the family – it’s very special; quite a unique property for this area,” Wang says.
“A lot of the material they used is of very high standard and quality, imported from overseas.”
The agent says the owners have raised their two children at the home but are ready to downsize.
He expects the property’s buyer will be another family with young children due to the extensive accommodation options, including six bedrooms, each with an ensuite, or one that could double as a home gym.
An office, formal dining room, large family room, retreat, upstairs balcony, double garage and sauna are also part of the package.
Outside, the pool and entertaining area, which includes a barbecue kitchen and bar, provide endless options for the warmer months.
And a cabana and gazebo, set in the property’s garden, are made for relaxation.
“Templestowe has always been a popular suburb for those looking to buy a lifestyle property,” Wang says.
“There are two very good schools – and this property is in both school zones. (It’s) in one of the best locations in Templestowe.”
Wang says much of the furniture – which has been purpose-built for the home – will be available to buy after the sale.
“It’s one of the properties that you won’t see on the market all the time,” Wang says.
