A small earthquake has rocked a regional town in Gippsland, Victoria.
The town of Foster was hit by the 3.3 magnitude earthquake about 12.15pm on Tuesday, with a recorded depth of 1km.

The small quake rippled through the town, which is about 30 minutes southeast of Leongatha – the town of the infamous mushroom-gate saga – but Victoria SES confirmed no injuries or damage were recorded.
The Seismology Research Centre posted an alert about the quake online and said “people within 10-20km of the epicentre might have felt it”.
It was a far cry from the earthquake that shook Melbourne in September 2021. It measured 5.9, caused several old buildings to collapse and created tremors as far away as Sydney, Dubbo and Launceston.
