Powerball winner thanks finding four-leaf clover

A man who won a little over $4m in a recent Powerball draw says his luck was due to a four-leaf clover.
The Cragieburn mans numbers came up in the November 9 draw, where he was one of two division one winners.
The elated father said being unregistered entry meant he had to discover the win for himself, rather than being contacted by the Tatts company.
“Hallelujah. This is life-changing,” he said. “I feel really good now, but when I first discovered the win, it was a whole different story.
“I was ready to go to bed on Thursday night, but then I thought I would check my Powerball ticket beforehand.
“I couldn’t sleep, couldn’t walk, couldn’t talk. It felt as if I was in a dream. I had to give myself a few days to calm down and catch up on sleep before I could come forward.”
It was the discovery of the clover, found on his avocado tree, that led to the win, the man said. He placed the clover over the ticket after purchasing it.
“Some might not believe me, but I really think it was because of the four-leaf clover, and it was truly meant to be,” he said.
It wasn’t the first time that the Cragieburn father had claimed to have won the lotto he said, but this time it wasn’t a prank, much to the relief of his wife.
“My children and I played a joke on my wife a couple of years ago that we had won the lottery, and she nearly had a heart attack,” he said. “We all felt so guilty.

“I remember feeling her heart and it was beating so fast, and now I know exactly what she was going through. I almost went blind and I couldn’t see, and my heart was beating so fast.
“My wife has thankfully believed this win and we’ve already gone and celebrated over some fancy dinners.”
The man said he plans to purchase a new home and car, and pay off his children’s mortgages with the winnings.
